White People Rapping, circa 1980 something
Hey kids, having a stable job is cool let me tell you, but sometimes you've got to loosen your tie and let those 80's dance impulses take over.
Sing them to sleep......
A giant inanimate doll that comes to life for the sole purpose of cradling children and singing them to sleep, that could be kind of touching if it was done right, or it could be overflowing with unclean creepy undertones like this jewel of a clip.

I went through this frame by frame in premiere and still couldn't find the thing, maybe it was lost in the compression or maybe its just an optical trick.

Wikihow - How to write a field guide, aimed at young naturalists
link
Glad someone made this, as a person who collects field guides and made a few of my own at a young age this is a nice little source of inspiration for future and current naturalists of any age. Let us not forget that you are never too old to collect frogs, lizards, insects and other varieties of fascinating creatures.
Buckaroo Banzai, 80's Done right
The music, cinematography, wardrobe, direction are all perfect. Buckaroo Banzai is a beautiful artifact of 80's cinema. The scene was paid homage to by Wes Anderson in The Life Aquatic's epic Bowie powered outro.

Night of the Meek, Twilight Zone
segment 1: link
segment 2: link
segment 3: link
Listen to the tinkle like piano score, I love the repeated use of the eerie and haunting version of "The First Noel". Night of the Meek has a wonderful feel to it and caries a beautiful message. Unfortunately it is ruined by the presence of elves and reindeer in the last act.
The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Opening
Opening theme by Polaris, "Hey Sandy". Great theme song, great show.
Lyrics

- You're lookin' happily deranged
- Can you settle to shoot me?
- Or have you picked your target yet?
- Hey Sandy (ai ai ai ai)

Awesome.
I love this painting by monster artist Bob Eggleton, unfortunately his talents don't bleed over into his web design skills.

Trailer for "Billy the Kid"
This looks amazing and heartfelt, cant wait to see it. Anyone who has ever attended public school in the U.S. knows that kid who is nice but is somehow off, and unfortunately it is that tiny bit of "off" that both makes them unique and hard to be around at the same time.
Toben Seymour's Video for Maps, "You Don't Know Her Name"
The design and feel of this video is amazing, fits the song perfectly.
Rob Schrab's Video for Crooked Teeth/w Making of
Much better than the original sledge hameresque video which has absolutely no soul to speak of.

UFOs over Lake Erie
Most UFO videos are relatively unintriguing, but the recent rash of UFO sightings over Lake Erie has produced some eerily beautiful footage. The lights in this one have an amazing quality about them that I cant quite describe. Although it could just be a fake, possibly produced by out of focus LED lights, if it is a fake its a commendable effort.
Okie Noodling
I'm interested in knowing how okie noodling started. Who was the first guy to say, "ok, I'm going to stick my hand down this dark muddy under water hole and see what happens", I mean really who does that? The practice is amazing to me in that it both makes sense and is utterly insane at the same time. I can understand practices like trout tickling where the fisherman lays along the bank of a river and slowly moves their hand under the side of the river bank feeling for trout to gently "tickle" then grab. But to me thats entirely different from okie noodling, trout are generally small and the process of tickling does not require your hand to enter the trouts mouth at any time. In comparison, sticking your hand down a hole in hopes that a behemoth cats fish will bite you and hopefully be small enough that you can bring him to the surface without being pulled under, that, that is just insane to me.
Zombie Katherine Hepburn, Think of the loons Norman, think of the loons......
I'm going to try and upload a quick photoshop piece or drawing once or twice every other day, I think its a good way to vent and explore ideas whether they're good or not. I'm starting here by expressing my dislike for both Katherine Hepburn and On Golden Pond, Henry Fonda's cool though, so I guess its to bad Zombie Hepburn took a bite out of his cranium.

Cinematic Titanic Sucks
Ok, come on we all love mst3k. Who doesn't? But the concept of the show simply doesn't hold up without the characters, Mike/Joel and their beloved robot friends Tom Servo and Crow. All of whom are missing from the new show, a factor which is painfully evident. We didn't just watch mst3k to see some guys make fun of B movies, we watched mst3k to see a guy stranded in space with his robot friends be forced to watch B movies and find solace by mocking them. That was entertaining, and made for a brilliant show that can be watched again and again. A bunch of guys standing on scaffolding or whatever the hell that is making riffing on B movies is not half as interesting or entertaining. Joel is a brilliant writer and comedian, I hope the show improves but from what I see at the moment I don't have much faith in the show.
Endless Summer Trailer - 1966
A team of American surfers scours the world for the perfect wave before they're shipped off to Vietnam and the world forever becomes a much smaller uglier place. On a serious note this is a great movie, and an extremely influential documentary. I love how exotic and exciting the rest of the world was made to look at the time. To bad we live in an era of realism.
Gram Rabbit - Blood Bunnies
This one scores points for weirdness, but fails overall. Maybe it could have been pulled off by a more skillful director. The kind of lofi cut and paste cyber bubble gum look they're going for doesn't really fit the song or the band.
Gram Rabbit - Dirty Horse - Devils Playground
"but jesus is mad and hes blaming it all on me, but the problem is you and its very plain to see"
I love this song but the video is garbage.

He Needs Me - Shelley Duvall
Originally from Robert Altman's weird ass live action adaption of Popeye the Sailor, the song was used again by P.T. Anderson in Punch Drunk Love, to much greater effect I may ad.
